As part of our commitment to transparency in Cardano's decentralized governance, we're sharing progress on our Intersect-funded project: Scalus - DApps Development Platform (EC-0020-25).

Milestone 2 focused on adoption and onboarding - making Scalus accessible to more developers and providing the resources needed to build production-ready smart contracts.
What We Delivered
Documentation & Onboarding
We reorganised Scalus documentation providing:
- Tailored learning paths for Cardano developers starting with Scalus and Scala developers entering Cardano
- Language Guide now includes detailed examples for every concept
- Smart Contracts Guide walks through the full development workflow - from writing to testing and integration.

Rosetta Blueprints
We delivered 7 of 21 Rosetta smart contract blueprints - practical implementations of common use cases like Betting, HTLC, Vesting, Vault, and Payment Splitter. These serve as starting point references for developers building similar functionality.
The reference implementations are available in the Scalus examples repository.
Note: In the upcoming milestones, we will contribute the finalised blueprints to the "Rosetta Blueprints" and "Cardano Blueprint and Ecosystem Monitoring" projects.
Design Patterns & Security
We implemented 1st part of the design patterns from Anastasia Labs' catalogue, including Stake Validator (Withdraw Zero Trick), UTxO Indexer, Validity Range Normalization, and Transaction Level Minter patterns. Each comes with documentation, examples, and tests.
Check out the Design Patterns repository for more details.
We also added a Plutus Vulnerabilities guide to help developers avoid common security pitfalls.
Developer Templates
New command-line templates let developers scaffold projects instantly:

Ongoing Platform Improvements
Based on community feedback, we made numerous improvements to the Scalus platform: refined the smart contract syntax, enhanced the standard library with new math utilities and optimised operations, and improved the test kit for better developer experience.
Scalus public releases:
- 0.13.0 (2025-10-22)
- 0.12.1 (2025-10-08)
- 0.12.0 (2025-09-27)

Growing Adoption
We launched Scalus Club - a community of 30+ experienced Cardano developers meeting every 2-4 weeks for early access to features and direct input on the roadmap.
Recent sessions covered Smart Contract Development:
Scalus is now consistently listed among the most actively developed projects on Cardano by Proof of Cardano.
Why This Matters
Cardano needs robust developer tooling to grow. Scalus enables full-stack dApp development in a single language—smart contracts, transaction building, backend, and frontend—all in Scala 3. The resources delivered in this milestone lower the barrier to entry and give developers production-ready patterns to build on.

The milestone was reviewed and approved by No Witness Labs as third-party assurer, confirming deliverables align with scope and demonstrating that Intersect's milestone-based funding model works.
Treasury reports can be found in the Intersect Treasury Dashboard.
What's Next
Milestone 3 will continue expanding the documentation, complete the remaining design patterns and next pack of Rosetta blueprints, and focus on providing extensive off-chain library for transaction building and testing.
